FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO TAKE A MASTER COURSE
I. Steps

Please check the admission information and contact the university office.

The university office will reply to the applicant whether it is possible to contact our laboratory.

We will ask the applicant to submit a research plan written in English, and then arrange an online interview.

The applicant will be accepted after passing our interview and then the university's entrance examination.
II. Requirements

The applicant must apply for our laboratory as their "first choice".

The applicant must pass the university's entrance examination.

The applicant needs to have English ability to read and write scientific papers. This will be confirmed by the submitted research plan.

The applicant needs to have English or Japanese ability to communicate orally. This will be confirmed at the online interview.
III. Research activities required during the master course

Students are required to write at least one scientific paper in English, with four pages or more, and to submit it to a peer-reviewed international conference or workshop.

Students are required to present at least one paper at a Japanese domestic conference or workshop.
IV. To further take a doctoral course after the master course

We will ask the applicant to submit an academic curriculum vitae and a research plan, and then arrange an online interview.

If we can accept the applicant, the applicant can contact the university office to confirm the admission procedure.
II. Requirements

The applicant should be proficient in English to read and write scientific papers, and to orally introduce, explain, and discuss his/her own research. This will be confirmed at the online interview.

The applicant is required to have ever published at least one first-authored and peer-reviewed scientific paper, written in English with at least four pages.

Please consult with us if you have decent English scientific publications but cannot meet the "first-authored" and "peer-reviewed" requirements at the same time.
III. Research activities required during the doctoral course

At a minimum, two related and well-organized research results + X are required.

The research results are first-authored, peer-reviewed publications during the doctoral course. They should be written in English, at least four pages; at least one of them must be published in a journal.

The + X part is determined by the independence of research results. For example, the + X part will be substantially required if a published journal paper is only a trivial extension of a previously accepted conference paper.
FOR NATIVE SPEAKERS OF LOW-RESOURCE LANGUAGES
If you are a native speaker of a certain low-resource and under-studied language, and have an interest in the fields of computational linguistics, natural language processing, or speech processing, We can provide supervision of a master course with a research theme on data construction and application of your language.
