The Advanced Speech Technology Laboratory is engaged in building large-scale speech corpora and in the research and development of speech recognition, speech synthesis, and speech dialogue processing technologies.

The Advanced Translation Technology Laboratory is engaged in research and development of fundamental technologies, bilingual corpora, and applied technologies to develop a high-precision translation system between multiple languages.
